In My Mailbox: Huh?

Okay so I haven't received books in the mail other then my Pulse It books in the past few months. So imagine my surprise when Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey shows up in my doorstop.

I do not know how I got it.

Didn't request it from the publisher ever, so they wouldn't have my address.

Is it possible I entered a contest?

Maybe, except don't ever remember doing so. So weird. Although, I'm a little freaked as to how my mailing address was sent to them, I'm so freaking excited about reading the book! Heard so many good things about this.

By the way if anyone can solve the mystery, please let me know. Was it recently up for grabs in a contest where you send it your mailing address by filling one of those online form thingys? If so, what website?

  1. Wow that's weird. I know Kelsey at Reading Keeps You Sane was giving away this book a while back. Did you win it from her?

  2. Could you have requested it from one of those sites that keeps your address on file and they add up new books to request from time to time? Like Library Thing Early Reviewers or whatever the Good Reads version is called?

  3. Wow, that's cool. You have a bookish guardian angel.

Or a strange person that is listening to your thoughts, stalking you, and then giving you a free book.

Be happy, be very happy :D

  5. Hey, I just picked that up in the store the other night and looked at it - but I put it back because a) I had no money (heh) and b) it was hard cover and you know, I had no money!

Maybe your address is on file with a book publisher? I know that I get the occasional book from Bell Bridge Books after having agreed to review one the first time.

At least this was a GOOD surprise, right? ;)

  8. I thought I saw it in a contest somewhere, but I can't remember who was hosting...That is kind of odd that they have your address.. but, if anyone wants to stalk me and send books, feel free! :) Maybe it was the book gods...

  10. It was definitely an excellent surprised. But you should have seen me when I got the book it was a mixture OMG I WANTED THIS SO BAD and followed by OMG!! WTF someone has my address and I don't know who. I kept on looking at the envelope 50 times.

And Kate and MssJos, there was a contest at Reading Keeps You Sane, but I never entered.

Rebecca-I'm part of the LibraryThing early reviewer but I don't remember seeing it there.

Cat-I never gave my address to the publisher before, (speaking of which not sure who the publisher is) so it was really weird when I got it.

Whoever send me the book THANK YOU, I am very excited to read it. I guess I shouldn't be too concerned until I get a death note or something, right? lol

  12. The return address doesn't say anything about who sent it? Sometimes on the mailing label, there'll be a name on there with who sent it.

That is very odd. I had that happen before my first summer reviewing, in which I got an ARC of Jinx by Meg Cabot but had no idea why I got it. I hadn't entered anything and, at that time, publishers didn't have my address. And there was no note included with it about anything. It was wierd.

  13. Hey BC- That's exactly the same situation with this book. lol As for the name just says the publisher's name Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, but other then that no name.

Jenny-Yeah, I can't wait to read. I heard a lot of good things about it. Although might be awhile until I get to it.
